I drew out my flat plan on A3 paper to work out the best layout for my magazine

My model practised various poses with various outfits to see what works best. I also moved around the key and fill lights to see what looks better.

The Skills I Have Learnt

I now know how to use Photoshop, as I've never used the software before. 
I have learnt how to add images to a background and stop the image from being pixalated. I have learnt how to add text and change the font, colour and size, Also moving the text around to where i think is appropriate.
I have learnt about lighting when it comes to photo shoots, fill lights will discard any shadows on the models face, which is why I moved the fill light closer to my models (Alice) face when I was practising taking photos.

Institution that would publish my magazine

Vice is the publisher that would publish my magazine, they published I-D as the two companies integrated together. My title of my magazine is I-T which is obviously inspired by I-D magazine which is why i think they would publish my magazine.

Inspirational Graphic Designers

David Carson; He is an American graphic designer, art director and surfer, 59 years of age. 
His work is very unique, standing out from other designs, He uses mainly black and white, with blue and red. Hes fonts he uses are quite plain, with the odd serif out of place which gives his work an edgy feel.



I could take the idea of his bold striking fonts and use them in my own work, which is what i'm thinking of doing to make the words stand out from my magazine.

Inspirational Photographers

Terry Richardson; He was born in 1965 on the 14th of August. He is an american fashion and portrait photographer.

I love this photographer because he takes simplistic photos, the majority of his photos stick to the Monochrome theme that i want to do.

Name; Lily Warner
About Lily; Lily is currently doing her A-levels; Media, ICT, Sociology and Business.
She has a part time job in a cafe, Lily enjoys going out with her friends most weekends. Shes addicted to her phone,shes a constant tweeter.
Likes and dislikes; Lily likes to go out with her friends weather its into town or to the local pub, she dislikes having to go to work after the night before with her friends. 
Music; Lily enjoys listening to chart music, she likes the bass of the songs. She tunes into Radio 1, Kiss and the Chart Shows. 
Clothing; Lily doesn't have a certain fashion style, one day she can be a complete chav in her joggers then the next she could be wearing jeans and a leather jacket with a nice blouse. It depends on her mood, when she goes out with her friends at the weekends she enjoys getting dressed up; fake tan, makeup, body-con dresses the lot.
Ambitions; Lily is currently doing her a-levels but is not sure what she wants to do as a career path which is why her a-levels are a variety of things she enjoys and has done well in, in her GCSE's. 
Media Consumption Habits; Lily could sit at home all day watching chick flicks and ron-coms being a typical teenager after going out the night before. She reads all the gossip magazines and knows all the details about the celebrities, which is also what she does on twitter! Getting all the juicy info. 
Idols; One of Lilys biggest idol is rita ora, because she's always wearing the latest fashions! And she has her own style. 

Audience Research

I researched through the UK Tribes website and discovered mainstream is the most suitable audience for the genre of my music. Mainstream is a mixture of people including; Blingers, Chavs, Fan girls and townies. The type of music they listen to is the chart music that i'm interested in, its not one particular type of music really. Mainstream people are happier with high street fashions than discovering underground musics and fashion that's different.

A Lot of the artists go from one extreme to the other, they either go for the plain and simple look for example; Monochrome or they go for the other approach of big, bold bright colours that stand out.

I think i will go for the Monochrome approach and include an aqua colour in the text which will work well together as i've discovered in my colour analysis.
Little mix is a prime example of my genre i'm interested in because their quirky, the image below is the style of clothing i want to use for my magazine but in black and white colours so its simplistic.

Language Register

After looking at other magazines i have decided that my magazine will contain informal language so that it fits my audience, the majority of my target audience will be teenagers who speak informally when listening to the genre of music my magazine is presenting because they are most likely to be with there friends which is when their usually more laid back, in their comfort zone using slang and taboo language.
